Sector: Rzhev - OPERATION: GUILLOTINE
It feels like the offensive is slowing to the point where action in this sector could be finished for a while. I’ve renewed the assault on the remnants of the VI. and XX. Korps, destroying the 23. Panzer, 162. and 246. Divisions, and the XXVII Korps HQ unit. Once the lines stabilize and close up, I’m going to begin moving out some of the more worn units, most importantly the Guards Armies, to rest and refit for the next offensive. I’m not 100 percent sure where that will be. Action has resumed on the Russia-Finland border, so my attention will turn there for the time being.
Sector: Sicily - OPERATION: HUSKY
Though I’m slowly creeping north and east, the major assaults have ended now that Italy’s government seems to be on the verge of collapsing. The moment that happens, Italy’s military retires from the field, OPERATION: HUSKY will be over and a rather convincing victory for the Allies.
